The Top 10 WSOP Moneymakers List

Here is the list of the Top 10 Moneymakers in the WSOP and how did they get the biggest pay in their career.
1.Jamie Gold - $12,067,292
Gold win the 2006 Main Event and got the biggest prize in WSOP history worth $12,000,000. The 2006 Main Event has the biggest participant population in WSOP history, but still Gold capture the title. He also has 3 other cashes to his name bringing in about $67,000.
It is near impossible that the population during the 2006 WSOP will be reach again in the future due to the existence of the UIGEA bill which is hampering the entrance of the Europe poker sites to the US market. So it is also feasible that Gold will be keeping his title for a little longer unless someone on this list managed to snag a big prize from a Main Event.
2.Peter Eastgate - $9,152,416
He is the winner of the 2008 Main Event and the youngest Main Event winner in the history of WSOP. He won one of the biggest prizes in WSOP, second only to what Gold has won during the 2006 Main Event. His win the 2008 WSOP is the only cash in he has in the tournament making one of the luckiest poker pro.
Eastgate is only 22 years old and a lot are betting that he will grabbed Gold’s crown in the years to come.
3.Jerry Yang - $8,250,000
The 3rd person on this list is also someone who has cash in the WSOP only once. But his sole cash in is worth it because it made him one of the top moneymakers in WSOP history.
Jerry Yang won the 2007 Main Event and lots of poker players think that it will be his only huge win at the WSOP. This is because of Yang’s transparent lack of skills in poker. But he covered it up well with a very nice personality.
4.Joe Hachem - $7,941,823
Joe Hachem is a one of the few players who plays poker excellently. He won the 2005 Main Event, has 8 WSOP cashes on his name and 2 final tables where he finish in 2nd and 4th place. He also won the WPT Five Diamonds event in 2006, taking home about $2 million in the process.
During the 2005 Main Event, the world has been expose to one Australian chant called, “Aussie, Aussie, Aussie…Oy, Oy, Oy!!!” The event is also the coming out party of Hachem.
5.Allen Cunningham - $6,717,791
One of the first non Main Event winners on this list is Cunningham. He is a poker pro with a wide experience including winning 5 bracelets and 40 events cash in the WSOP. But he got his biggest win from the 2006 Main Event finishing in the 4th over all, getting a prize of $3 million.
Even though Allen Cunningham is not that popular in the community, he is considered as one of the best players around.
6.Greg Raymer - $6,487,512
Raymer is the first person to gain from a largely participated WSOP event. He won the 2004 Main Event wherein the participants triple from last year and taking home $5 million.
He is also a very talented player proven by his 13 cashed in the WSOP with 5 final tables counting a 3rd place in the 2009 $40k NLHE tournament.
7.Ivan Demidov - $6,468,381
Ivan is the first non-bracelet winner included on this list. He finished in 2nd place in the 2008 Main Events and foretold to be one of the rising icons in the community. He is born in Russia and he also finished third on the WSOP Europe Main Event in 2008.
8.Paul Wasicka - $6,192,711
Wasicka is known for winning the largest brides-maid payday in the history of poker. He is a Full Tilt Poker pro and also a teacher in the Full Tilt Poker Academy. He has 3 cashes in the WSOP so far and considered as another player to be watch about in the future.
9.Phil Hellmuth - $6,054,988
Phil Hellmuth pride is certainly crushed since some of the persons listed here are not known to him. Phil already has 11 bracelets from the WSOP but he merely got $755,000 as his biggest WSOP earnings.
Phil already cash in 73 events but he still has not get lucky enough to get the kind of win his counterparts got. He is the only grinder in the group because almost all of the individuals listed here have won a big amount once or twice to be included.
10.Michael Binger - $4,853,748
Binger is another fellow who has no Main event win who managed to be included in this list. He just finished 3rd during the 2006 Main Event and cashed into 19 WSOP events so far. But Binger is one of the most unidentified poker players in the game.
Michael Binger has a PhD in Theoretical Physics but he opt to become a poker pro because of the high amount of money presented by the latter.
