As anticipated, the field in Event #43 $10,000 H.O.R.S.E. World Championship was as rough as they come. The field was so loaded that even the best and most seasoned players in poker found themselves between a rock and a hard place.

Ultimate Bet Poker Annie Duke kicked off the day with Phil Ivey on her right when he busted the seat was filled by John Juanda. Former Main Event champ Joe Hachem caught himself to the left of another former Main Event champ, Greg Raymer, after his first table busted. Brock Parker, Bill Chen, Dan Shak, “Miami” John Cernuto, James Mackey and Zac Fellows were all seated around a single table when the tournament started. As play go on into Day 2, things are doubtful to get easy.

Seven previous Main Event winners are still left: Hachem, Raymer, Chris Ferguson, Scotty Nguyen, Huck Seed, Carlos Mortensen and Doyle Brunson. Erik Seidel, Allen Kessler, Daniel Negreanu, Freddy Deeb, Jennifer Harman and Frank Kassela are also among the 169 players still in the field.
